The information of School of Chemistry & Environment :

The School of Chemistry & Environment is a centre for teaching for diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels and for research in the chemical sciences. Our committed and enthusiastic staffs make the department a wonderful environment in which to work and study.

The School of Chemistry & Environment is one of three schools in the Faculty of Applies Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA Negeri Sembilan. The school was established in May 2014. The main purpose of this school is teaching chemistry to Pre Diploma (Science), Diploma in Science, Diploma in Microbiology, Diploma in Food Technology, Diploma in Textile, Degree in Biology and Degree in Chemistry levels. We have started our first Degree programme in Chemistry in September 2013 and the first batch of undergraduate students were enrolled. Another degree programme, bachelor of science (environmental technology) will be offered in September 2015. A new degree programme, Bachelor Of Industrial Hygiene is in the process of getting approval from MKU and MQA. The programmes offered and designed not only to produce graduates with a solid knowledge of Chemistry but also to equip them with attributes so that they can adapt readily to a dynamic and rapidly developing working environment. Our main objectives are to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, highly skilled and well-mannered and possess excellent work ethics suited for the requirements of the industrial and public sector.

Today, with 23 highly qualified academic staffs, 4 technical supporting staffs the department strives for academic excellence through creative learning, and diverse research in chemistry and related fields.

In line with this aspiration, the School of Chemical Sciences has offered and designed courses in such a manner that they can be modified and adjusted from time to time to suit the requirement of an unpredictable future. The School follows a system of studies which is liberal and multi-disciplinary in nature.
